PowerHouse Dance Academy was established in 2023 under the direction of Kathleen Boland. We bring over 20 years of dancing experience, education, and passion to the community. The art of dancing is a fun activity for all ages and we hope through this art form we are also able to promote community health. At PowerHouse Dance Academy we are dedicated to providing a well-rounded education in dance and strive to provide a strong and solid technical foundation for each dance style. Our goal is to help each student reach their fullest potential through a very detailed curriculum. Whether the child desires to pursue dance as a lifelong commitment or is looking for a new activity, we welcome all levels and ages. We are more than just instilling a dance education in each student, we hope to pass on skills, such as respect, accountability, discipline, and self-confidence, that will help each student succeed in their daily lives, by fostering power, precision, and excellence in every student that comes through our doors.

Miss Katie began her dance training on Cape Cod Massachusetts at the age of 4, training and competing in various styles through her high school years.
She went on to further her education at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts where she continued her training as well as studying Pedagogy, Dance History, Dance composition, and Kinesiology to further her knowledge in the art of teaching dance. Miss Katie graduated as a double major from Dean College in 2010 with a Bachelors in Dance and an Associates in Health sciences.
From a very young age, she knew she was meant to be a dance teacher. Her teaching journey began 18 years ago while still in school through student teaching as well as starting an after school enrichment program at a local elementary school teaching kindergarteners through 5th graders Jazz and Hip Hop.
Since that first day of teaching she has gone on to teach throughout Massachusetts and North Carolina, choreographing award winning solos, as well as small groups, large groups, and production numbers.
It brings her such joy and fulfillment to watch her students grow to love and excel in this art form and considers it a blessing that she gets to pass on her knowledge and love of dance every day.
