PowerHouse Dance Academy's Policies

Registration Policies - All students will pay a non refundable registration fee of $35 for a single student and $70 dollars per family. This is due/required at the time of enrollment.

Tuition Policies - Tuition is due on the 1st of every month. If it is not paid by the 10th a $25 late fee will be applied to the account and late notices will be handed out in class as well as emailed. If an account is 30 days past due the student will not be allowed to participate in class until the account is brought into good standing.
Tuition is the same every month and will not be pro-rated for missed classes, or observed holidays. Tuition is calculated based on the number of weeks in a season and divided into equal monthly payments. Students who add a class or register after the start of the year will be prorated(depending on the date of enrollment).
If you would like to break your payments up into 2, 4, or 8 equal payments instead of the 10 please let the studio director know and we would be happy to accommodate those payment plans.

We offer a 10% Sibling Tuition discount.

There will be a fee of $35 dollars for any returned payments.

* ALL PAYMENTS AND FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE*

Summer Tuition - Summer Session is typically held from the beginning of June through the end of July. Tuition is a fixed one time payment due at the time of registration. If your summer payment is not made in full we cannot guarantee that a spot will be held or available when it comes time for camp.

Add/Drop Class Policy - You may add or drop a class at any point. Added Classes will be prorated depending on the date of enrollment. Dropping a class will need to be done in writing and we ask that you do that by the 14th of each month to avoid a tuition charge.

Withdrawal from the Academy - If at any time a student wishes to withdraw from the dance academy we require 30 days written notice. During those 30 days, you are still responsible for payment and the student can continue to take classes.

Attendance Policy - We ask that you make it a priority to attend class on a regular basis and to please arrive on time. When a student is out of class or late it affects the whole class, so we kindly ask that you keep this to a minimum. Students who arrived more than 10 mins late could be asked to observe class. A proper warm up is a necessity in each class to ensure a safe and injury free experience. We understand that things happen and just ask you to keep us informed via Phone or email.
Sick Policy - We ask that if you child has had a fever or has been throwing up you keep them home until they are fever/upset stomach free for 24 hours. We encourage kids who are not contagious to come and watch so they do not miss out on anything.

Missed Class Policy - Missed dance classes may be made up in a class that is equivalent to the one missed or a level below. If there are any questions on which ones to attend please contact the studio director.

Inclement Weather Policy - When there is a chance of inclement weather we will make a decision by 12 noon on that day. Please check our website, Facebook, or Instagram as we may not always follow the school system closures. We ask that your phone number and email it kept up to date as we will send out messages on those days as well.
Parent Viewing Policy - Parents are not allowed in the classroom with the exception of the mommy and me and the tiny tots combo if needed. We ask that parents wait outside the room or drop and come back this ensures that we will have the complete attention of the kids, as parents can sometimes be a distraction to our dancers. Occasionally parents will be welcomed in for a show and tell performance.
Pick up and Drop off Policy - Please drop your child off no more than 10 mins early or pick up your dancer more than ten minutes late unless other arrangements have been made. Please make sure that at drop off you have taken your little ones to use the bathroom prior to class starting. Students will not be allowed to wait outside and will remain in the studio until the parents arrive to ensure their safety.

Food and Drink Policy - All dancers should come to class with water to class. Dancers who have longer evenings will be able to bring a snack and will have a designated area to eat in. All other food and drink is otherwise not allowed. Dancers are not allowed to chew gum at at time during class.

Conduct Policy - At PowerHouse Dance Academy we have zero tolerance for any offensive, obscene, violence/aggression, discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behavior of any kind. We pride ourselves on a fun, safe and inclusive environment and any of the above behaviors will be grounds for dismissal.

Dress Code Policy - Proper Class attire is a sign of respect, responsibility, and discipline. Dress code is very important to the dancer's education and when a dancer is dressed inappropriately it hinders the teacher's ability to properly correct the dancer holding them back. A student will receive warnings each time this happens, 1st is verbal, 2nd is written and then 3rd the student will be asked to sit and watch the class. For a complete list of class descriptions and dress code

Class Placement Policy - Student placement is made by the studio director. if we feel a student is not in the proper level we will notify you and move that student to the appropriate class. We understand that all kids want to advance but they all need to be allowed to advance at their own pace. We will keep you up to date with how your child is doing in class(how they are excelling/what needs improvement a few times a year. If you have any questions regarding your child's placement please see the director.
Costume Fee - Each Dance class will perform in the recital at the end of the year and costumes are required for each class. A non refundable costume deposit of $55 is due by November 1st and the remaining balance of the costumes will be billed at the beginning of January. We cannot stress the importance of the costume deposits being paid on time as costumes sell out quickly and we need to order early to ensure they will be in stock in the correct sizes.
*If you wish not to participate in the recital we need to know by Oct 31st*

Recital/Performance Fee - There is a performance fee of $90 for every single student and $175 for every family participating in the recital. These performance fees cover 4 tickets for each family, a Finale shirt that each student will wear during the Finale performance, as well as help to cover costs of the venue etc.
More Tickets to the performance will be available for purchase closer to the show date.
